Spinal Disc Fatigue Simulator
The Prosim Spinal Disc Fatigue Simulator is a multi-station machine designed for the reliable and repeatable testing of the effects of biomechanical fatiguing on intervertebral orthopaedic devices.
Believed to be one of the world’s first simulators capable of replicating the in-vivo movement of the spine, the Prosim Spinal Disc Fatigue Simulator provides a unique and cost-effective resource to any organisation involved in the development of intervertebral orthopaedic devices.
The Prosim Spinal Disc Fatigue Simulator provides both force and displacement control in axial and rotational directions, enabling it to replicate in a short time wear patterns that take several years to occur naturally.
The Prosim Spinal Disc Fatigue Simulator includes numerous features and benefits:
- Simultaneous testing of up to 6 prostheses in two banks of three stations
- Each bank of three may be independently started
and stopped
- Each station may have it’s own load and rotation profile
- Easy to use Windows operator screen
- Graphic interface similar to that provided with the
range of Prosim Wear Simulators
- Test specimens quickly and easily removable
- Each station has its own electronic controller with LCD display to show axial load and displacement, rotational torque and angular displacement
- Stainless steel apron to allow easy clean-up
of spillages
- Industrial enclosure houses PC and monitors, displaying machine status and logging data
Prosim is able to offer customisation of its simulators to meet client’s specific testing requirements.
