Teaching and Research
Simulation is an important resource for teaching, it allows students to experiment and explore real world situations from programming robots to developing manufacturing and logistics strategies, all from within a computer.
We have provided software for whole class teaching and for supported curriculum development. We have also provided guest lecturers to deliver ‘industry insight’ talks.
Our contribution to research has been substantial, for the medical devices industry our Prosim simulators have been testing orthopaedic hip, knee and spine implants since the mid 1990’s. Working with all the major implant manufacturers and research labs we have helped researchers test and better understand the reasons for implant failures for over 20 years.
Now with the simVITRO – Robotic Musculoskeletal Simulator from Cleveland Clinic we are helping researchers conduct testing that answers clinical questions they are asking.
